Private Security & Bodyguards in Senegal

bodyguard-senegal-dakar-plateau-executive-protection.png

Senegal is an important gateway to West Africa, welcoming international delegations, corporate executives, investors, public figures and private families. From business engagements in Dakar to international conferences in Diamniadio, private stays along the Petite Côte or assignments in more remote regions, each journey presents different security and logistical considerations. Reliable local knowledge, careful preparation and appropriate protection are essential to managing movements, maintaining discretion and adapting to the realities of each destination.

In Senegal, a mission may combine executive protection, secure transportation and operational support according to the client's requirements. From airport arrivals and business meetings in Dakar to private residences, events and regional travel, each assignment follows the itinerary, local conditions and level of protection required. Clients benefit from a single point of contact throughout their stay, while the service reflects the practical demands of each destination.

Protection is available in Dakar, including the Plateau, the Almadies, Ngor, Fann, Mermoz and Point E, at Diamniadio, where the ministerial campus, the Abdou Diouf international conference centre and the Dakar Arena sit, and on the Petite Côte at Saly and Somone. Saint-Louis, the Lac Rose and Cap Skirring are covered on the same basis, as are arrivals and departures through Blaise Diagne international airport and its general aviation terminal. We keep the same standard here as in every other city on your itinerary.

Security Services in Senegal

Our support in Senegal is structured around five core security services. They are available in Dakar, Diamniadio, along the Petite Côte, including Saly and Somone, and at the country's main aviation gateways. Each one is built around how this country actually works: a capital on a peninsula where the day is decided by the hour you leave rather than by the distance, a business culture that runs on personal relationships, and a calendar where a few weeks a year absorb every hotel room and every qualified local agent. Your file is followed in French or in English, whichever you prefer, and the teams on the ground work in French and in Wolof with your household, your staff and your drivers.

Executive Protection and Bodyguards
Executive protection in Senegal requires professionals familiar with local customs, business practices and the specific demands of diplomatic, corporate and private environments. From official meetings in Dakar and Diamniadio to public appearances or private engagements, protection professionals are selected for the client's profile, itinerary and level of exposure. Particular attention is given to professional presentation, cultural awareness and the management of public interactions, allowing security to blend naturally into the client's activities.

Villa and Residential Security
Cover for a house, a villa or an apartment you own or rent here, at the Almadies, Ngor, Fann, Mermoz or Point E in Dakar, or at a seasonal address at Saly or Somone. You get a presence during the hours that matter, whether the residence is occupied or empty, arrival and departure routines that do not advertise your movements, screening of domestic staff, gardeners, contractors and deliveries, and coordination with the existing guarding team at the residence rather than against it. The same coverage can continue for a weekend, a month or a full season, with the same agents throughout wherever we can, because at a private address familiarity is worth more than rotation.

Private Transport, Secure Transport and Security Drivers
Security drivers and vehicles for a capital where the transfer plan, not the mileage, decides the day. The public transport authority for Dakar records an average speed of 48 km/h, 22 per cent of main roads saturated at peak hours and 40 hours a year lost per inhabitant to congestion (CETUD, traffic observatory). In practice that means a meeting is won or lost on the hour you leave, and that is what we plan. You get a driver fully integrated into the protective plan, who uses the Dakar, Diamniadio and airport toll motorway where it saves time, knows each hotel and office approach, and handles airport transfers through the terminal or through the general aviation lounge, where police, customs and border control are on site. Onward legs to Abidjan, Bamako, Nouakchott or Casablanca are planned in the same file.

Event Security
Cover for private receptions, launches, conferences, family celebrations and the weeks when the country fills up all at once. The last quarter of 2026 is the clearest example: the Youth Olympic Games run at Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly from 31 October to 13 November, the Dakar Biennale from 19 November to 19 December, and the Dakar international trade fair from 10 to 31 December. Hotels and qualified local agents are effectively booked out across that whole period, and the Africa Eco Race brings the same pressure at the Lac Rose from 24 January 2027. You get access control, guest flow management and protective cover that guests do not notice. For those weeks, the earlier we have the dates the better the assets we can secure for you.

Country Analysis, Travel Advice and Risk Assessment
Assessment at the address and itinerary level rather than national generalisations. Senegal is rated at the lowest of the four levels of the United States travel advisory scale, "exercise normal precautions", as at 1 December 2025, and that matches local feedback: the practical subjects here are opportunistic street theft in a few specific places, the hour you travel, and the rainy season from July to October, when some roads become difficult. Field visits to Casamance are planned separately, on main axes and in daylight, and we will tell you plainly what we recommend. You get a residence and route assessment before you arrive, a review of the schedule day by day, and a written summary your family office or chief of staff can act on. Available on its own, without a protective detail, if required.

How an Assignment Unfolds
It starts with one call. We take the itinerary, the dates and the level of discretion you want, then come back with a structured proposal. Residences, venues and routes are assessed in advance where the schedule allows. You keep one point of contact from the first call to the last transfer. If the schedule moves, you call the same number.

Who Our Solutions Are Designed For
Corporate leaders and delegations using Dakar as their West African base, investors and founders attending forums and site visits, institutions, foundations and non governmental organisations travelling upcountry, families spending a season on the Petite Côte, artists and performers on a festival run, production and film crews, sports delegations, and organisers of private events who want cover that no guest notices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas of Senegal do you cover?
Dakar in full, including the Plateau, the Almadies, Ngor, Fann, Mermoz and Point E, plus Diamniadio, Saly and Somone on the Petite Côte, Saint-Louis, the Lac Rose and Cap Skirring. Other regions are covered on request.

How quickly can an assignment be arranged?
Several days or weeks' notice is strongly recommended, particularly for regional travel, residential security, major international events or assignments requiring additional logistical preparation. This gives us time to assess the requirement, confirm suitable resources and complete the client onboarding, contractual and payment formalities. Short-notice requests, including 24 to 72 hours, may still be possible for existing clients or when timing and available resources allow.

Are your agents armed in Senegal?
As a rule, no. Protective agents here work unarmed and in plain clothes, which is the normal standard in the country. Carrying a weapon requires a specific authorisation from the Ministry of the Interior, granted case by case, and it is never the default. The protection comes from advance planning, positioning, secure driving and judgment.

Can you handle the airport arrival?
Yes. We meet arrivals at Blaise Diagne international airport, through the terminal or through the general aviation lounge when you travel privately, where police, customs and border control are handled on site. The transfer into Dakar is planned around the hour of arrival, using the toll motorway where it saves time.

Can you cover a trip upcountry or to Casamance?
Yes, and these are planned as their own leg rather than added to a Dakar file. Travel is arranged on main axes and in daylight, with vehicles and a communication plan suited to the distance. Tell us the destination and the dates and we will tell you what we recommend and what we do not.

How discreet is the protection?
Discretion is the default setting. Agents dress appropriately for the setting, integrate seamlessly with your party, and are selected for their professional judgment and composure.

How does a first assignment start?
Send us the dates, the addresses and the party details. We provide a comprehensive proposal covering each stage and clear pricing. Upon confirmation, we brief the local team and run the assignment.
